And everything is becoming a little too real for me. Tuesday during my five hour stay at the hospital I started to panic, I didn't have this ready or that ready and OMG what am I going to do!?!?! Am I really having another baby? Started to hyperventilate, then slapped myself and said knock it off! I wonder if Michelle Duggar feels like that before each of her births? Yes I secretly love that reality show.

Anyways, today is my last day at work and I'm very excited to not have to spend two hours in my car five days a week. Score, and yah for not spending $40+ a week on gas...now I'll spend $40+ a week in diapers. HAHA! I wonder what it'll be like when I do come back? Oh, how I wish I didn't have to but that's another post.

Happy Friday and have a fabulous weekend, I'm sure I'll be running (or waddling) around my house getting everything just right for Poof's arrival.

We had a little scare on Tuesday, turns out I was just dehydrated. After giving me fluids things calmed down and I was sent home. Thank goodness. Stay put Poof, 6 more days. However, Big J bet me $50 she'd come early.

Definitely starting to get more uncomfortable so it's making me a little moody. Sorry Big J. I really am trying to cherish everything seeing this will be the last time I ever will experience this. Bittersweet, I can't wait to meet her and am ready to have my body back but I'll miss my big ol' belly and feeling her kick and poke me.

Symptoms

My back is really bothering me, I think with all the coughing it's just making those muscle weak or weaker? I dunno, all I do know is I can basically work around the house for 10 minutes and then need a break. Knock on wood I made it to single digits before really having any back trouble. With Elly my back constantly hurt at 28 weeks and beyond and I went on medical leave shortly after. Friday is my last day of work and I'm looking very forward to it! Can't believe I made it this long but sitting at a desk really isn't too difficult I keep reminding myself. HA!

Cravings

Fruit...mmmm! I think I'm all pizza'd out from the weekend. We had pizza on Friday and Saturday. All I wanted yesterday was fruit and veggies.

Big Sister Party

Friday morning Elly woke up with a nasty cold but she was determined that even though she felt like ca ca she was going to that party on Saturday. Saturday the skies opened up and we got about 3-4 inches of snow...but we didn't let that damper our party spirits for today was ELLY'S BIG SISTER PARTY!!! 1 hour before the party I took her temperature and sure enough it was normal, so on we went.Opening presents, everyone that came was very generous and made Elly feel so special.
Elly and her good friend Delaney. She lives about 3 houses down and is in the same class as Elly. Play dates are a weekly thing.

You can't see what she's holding but Delaney gave her Pokemon cards. Yah!

Another cutie pa tootie Baylee gave Elly a make your own stuff animal. She's already made them, one for her and one for Poof!

Still feeling okay! I figured for the next 2 weeks I'd give weekly updates. The belly is large and in charge.

Symptoms

The Braxton Hicks have calmed a little and replaced with a sinus infection. I used to be the girl that never ever got sick and now I have this and asthma issues. Someone is having a very big laugh! Sigh, could be worse...just can't wait to be able to breathe normally.

Sleep is another thing that is hard to come by, just getting me ready I guess.

Cleveland Clinic Miracle

Click the above link, just another IVF miracle. Amazing! This is the clinic that Jon and I went to, they really are amazing at what they do and make you feel so at home. Every nurse at The Cleveland Clinic was so comforting, I cried many times over silly things (and not so silly things)...in the office and over the phone. Reading that story just made me smile and then I rubbed my belly.

I can't recall where I saw this idea or if it was even my own idea...pregnancy brain at it's finest. I just know that I've been kicking the idea around for awhile. I asked Elly if she would even want to do it and she immediately said yep and was really excited.

Basically it's a journal that only Elly and I can write in. (I told Big J he could read it but I know he won't, he's very respectful when it comes to these things.) We write notes to each other, color pictures in it, etc. We're making it up as we go too. I figured the first journal should be special so I ordered the above from Snapfish, little pricey but worth it. I think it turned out cute. I hope this will keep us close especially over the next few weeks when her little world will be rocked with a baby sister.

Still feeling good! Getting very excited and nervous too though. I don't care about the surgery but I'm petrified of the needle going in my back. Gives me the collywobbles just thinking about it. *shudders*

Symptoms

Having more and more braxton hicks as the time progresses. Few painful ones this weekend but nothing to go into L&D for. I wish there was a switch that I could turn off and let her know she's not coming out that way so knock it off. =) She's running out of room and I can sure tell. Asthma and coughing is still a daily occurrence unfortunately. I'm actually looking forward to her dropping a little to see if that relieves some of the symptoms.

My very dear friend Leah sent me a box last week for Poof and Elly. She was so generous and gave Elly a sweatshirt, Pokemon (gag) cards and little Squinkies. Elly was thrilled that her name was on the box of gifts too, she hasn't stopped wearing the sweatshirt since. Thanks Leah for making her feel special too.

On to the handmade gifts...a sleep sack and matching hat. I love the owl design, very settle but unique. This will come in handy seeing how cold it's getting, this morning it was 4 degrees...yes 4!
I adore this cute hat, loooove the pom poms!
This one is my favorite, I know for sure she'll wear it on the way home from the hospital.
She didn't stop there, she also bought some cute outfits, including a baby bikini! Thank you again Leah, I super big pink puffy heart you! Can't wait to see you again soon. XO

Weekend Ramblings

Wow this weekend was busy, I hope this is the last of the busyness until baby comes because here it is Tuesday and I'm still recovering.

Friday night I had my baby shower for little Poof, I was so overwhelmed with everyones generosity that I came home and cried a little. Shut up, I'm allowed. For so many months (maybe years) I refused to get to know anyone living in Ohio because I didn't want to make friends and then leave again. Well 5 years later I know a great group of women and I cherish the friendships very much.

I don't have many pictures from my baby shower. In fact all I have is the cake, food--pregnant...go together like peas and carrots. Another friend is due a day after me, so we had a joint shower...so fun!

Yes still anal about not sharing my last name...someday maybe. =)

On Saturday Jon had his work Christmas party. I really was hesitant to go, I feel huge and surrounded by all his beautiful co workers in fancy smancy-ness was making me feel less then beautiful. But I rocked the belly and I was actually over dressed...go figure.

And just for fun...

During all the hustle and bustle it snowed quite a lot, Elly enjoyed playing in it of course (see below). Crazy how when you're young you can't wait to play in all the snow and as you are an adult the only thing you want to do is look at it with a cup of coffee in your hand.

Sunday we tried to finish up the nursery walls but failed miserably, the paint color is just a shade too dark for the touch ups we want...so we'll have to repaint. Work in progress. We did get new blinds up though...score!

Not that I prayed for it at all, but it's been really eerie here in Ohio with out snow for the past several months. Again, I'm not complaining I was actually petrified of slipping in the snow being this pregnant. Alas the snow showed up today and it'll be here tomorrow too and then again, I think it's leaving. Awh well. Count my blessings, don't know how I was going to get my swollen dogs (feet) in my snow boots anyways.

Feeling good! We are getting things going, nursery painted, etc. I'm so not as anxious as I was with Elly when everything had to be done and ready months before hand. With this little girl I'm more at ease and rather take a nap then go shopping for anything. HA!

Symptoms

Well my cough and wheezing (asthma) landed me in Urgent Care this last Friday. The OB on call said go to the ER but there was a 4 hour wait so I decided Urgent Care would be just as good and hopefully less time. 3.5 hours later I was home. Sigh. Guess being pregnant doesn't land you at the top of the list. Awh well. I feel better after have a breathing treatment but still am coughing and wheezing. Fingers crossed I can get over this soon. I go back for a check up this Thursday, if things are not better I'll see what else I can do. Cold, dry air and me don't mix. My co-workers instead of calling me Kaci now call me Hack-er-sore-us...nice, eh?

Fruit and bagels. HA! Not together though...hmmm...well maybe together?

Jon and I were talking to Elly last night about New Year's goals and what they mean, etc.

Jon came up with: to spend less money $, sounds good to me, more for me to spend. Kidding!

Mine was to be the healthiest Mommy I can be. After the baby is born I'm not going to focus on the scale, but focus on nutrition.

Elly's goal is to start a garden. A flower garden, but maybe I can convince her to grow some produce too? Who am I kidding, she'll start it and I'm sure I'll have to tend to it.

Christmas Eve we always let El open one gift. I bought her a Lalaloopsy Doll, she never asked for one but I was secretly hoping she'd love it and maybe, just maybe, leave the Pokemon obsession behind her. HAHA! Yes, I'm evil. But that darn Santa brought her more Pokemon, gonna have a word with the man that wears the red suit.

Peach the Elf left us Christmas Eve but left Elly Belle a pair of jammies. We'll miss you Peach, have fun on the beach!

Still feeling good! Getting anxious to get things set up and ready. On pins and needles to get the room painted, the crib set up, etc., etc., etc. Tick, tock!

Symptoms

Swelling! Holy swelling! I did not expect this to come this early and so fast. All is good but wow was it scary for a few days. Blood pressure is fine, no elevated proteins...thank goodness. I've also been dealing with some asthma issues but that is normal as well for me, unfortunately. Must stop coughing and wheezing ASAP!

Cravings

Nothing really, I'm at the stage where nothing sounds good and I'm just not as hungry. I force dinner down most nights. I'm also trying my hardest not to eat too much salty food to help with the swelling.

1. A prenatal massage. Or better yet, a prenatal masseuse on call at all hours. Including 2 am when these legs start cramping. Um...and can his name be Jorge or something exotic, ooo and he smell all yummy, and offer me a cold beverage? Did I go too far?
2. 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. I’m looking at you kicking baby girl who thinks my bladder is a squeeze toy. Oh and I'll add to sleep on my tummy, oh how I miss that.
3. Stretch marks. No explanation needed, they are bright red and hurt.
4. Week without heartburn. Spicy Subway veggie sub how I love thee, but not the heartburn that follows.
5. Swelling and the end of pregnant fat face. I get it, I’m gaining weight and need to, but in my cheeks. My poor feet also look repulsive.
6. Walking anywhere with out feeling like I just ran 10 miles...and going up and down the stairs. I really wish we bought the house where the washer/dryer was not in the basement.

**This was just for fun, I really do love being pregnant and all things that come with it. I wouldn't trade this miracle for anything!**

So for the past few weeks, I've been trying to think of a fun Christmas activity we could all do, I thought of a movie, dinner, Christmas lights, and so on. Seeing as this is El's last Christmas as a only child I wanted to make it memorable.

So on Saturday after our cookie fun, we got ready and headed out. First stop was Hallmark, I wanted her to pick out a special ornament. Being 7, she had other ideas in mind. She wanted a stuffed animal, not a Christmas stuffed animal, a bright pink dog. (See picture below) Not wanting to make waves already so young in the evening I said fine and didn't insist on the ornament. Never plan ahead on how things will go, I should know this by now.

So onto the next activity, we let Elly pick the restaurant, as long as it wasn't Chuck E Cheese I didn't really care. She picked Olive Garden, great, yum! We get there and the wait time is 1 hour! Really, 1 hour, are you kidding me? Okay fine, are you sure Elly you don't want to go to Applebee's or how bout that other hamburger place that serves you in less then 5 minutes? No, okay fine, grumble, grumble, spoiled little... So we waited and waited and I kid you not I learned about this woman's back surgery and kids that I was sitting next too while we waited. She hit me with her purse, her jacket, and just when I was going to blow we finally got called. I may or may not have accidentally hit her with my coat as I got up to go to my seat. Ya my back hurts too woman! Sheesh.
After dinner, even though I was stuffed to the gills we stopped and got some Starbucks love for a little pick me up, yawn, and went on to look at lights. It was really fun, and even in a smaller town people still had beautiful displays. I love this tradition we have done since El was first born.

Next year we'll have another Little Miss who will enjoy the lights, I just know it.

Marshmallow Snowmen Recipe Don't these look adorable, I mean how fun! I love snowmen, my tree is filled with Smores ornaments. I just love em. So I thought Elly would have fun, making these...and she did.

Here's the one I made...a little tipsy. Too much eggnog? Pull yourself together soldier and pose!
Here's Els, not too shabby! The eye is a little droopy...he must of snuck in and had some eggnog too. Sheesh!
30 seconds later...catastrophe!! What the, what the? Come back to us! Medic! Medic, we have a man down!
Hmmm maybe another hat will work Momma? Okay El try that.
So then we started to get creative...prop the head up with a extra pretzel and marshmallow will work. We were determined.

First attempt...extra licorice at the bottom, make the base stronger girls.
Then a lighter hat? Peppermint kisses...mmmm, no, must not eat prop ingredients.

Whelp...ya they were a bust. Sorry Nestle but this recipe didn't do well in our household. And yes I do see that Jon's is holding up the most. Shush! But, but, but do you see the extra pretzel in the back holding it up? Along with some crazy glue and and and...I kid!

Letter from the Teacher

Miss Carper is a substitute teacher while Ms. O is on medical leave. Miss Carper was also one of Elly's preschool teachers and she was one of Elly's daycare teachers as well. We have a long history with Miss Carper and we l.o.v.e her.

Elly was Star Student of the Week last week and she sure felt special. Every day they did something special.

Monday Elly shared pictures of her family, pets, etc.
Tuesday Elly shared special items from home, like favorite toys, etc.
Wednesday Elly read her favorite book.
Thursday Elly took to class a letter from Mommy and Daddy to Elly, Miss Carper read the letter.
Friday Elly's class all wrote letters to her, the above letter is from Miss Carper.

It was very heartwarming to read all the letters the kids wrote to Elly. Makes Big J and I think we are doing something right. *wink* She is such a great kid, we feel very blessed to have her in our lives, sass and all!

I'm still feeling great! Mood swings are not as bad as they could be, last Monday I was for sure weepy but lack of sleep and a cranky boss can get the best of anyone, pregnant or not.

She's kicking a lot harder these days, holy moly! I love it though, honestly. One morning I was driving to work and listening to Christmas music. Jingle Bell Rock came on and I swear she was dancing in there, when the song stopped she did too.

Cravings

Just craving gingerbread lattes, gingerbread cookies, gingerbread...mmm! YUMMY! I'll be so sad when the holidays leave. Wonder if I can write Starbucks and have them extend the yummy-ness till February?

Elly and cousin Keely are a little over a year apart (I've only mentioned Keely a thousand times on here), and while my sister Candee and I have always tried to keep the girls close there's only so much you can do living in California and Ohio. Bless the person who invented Skype!! Just a few weeks ago we got the girls together and they chatted. They actually chat more when we leave them to it...ya know even little girls like to gossip.

The beginning of the conversation was a little silly:

Towards the end both of the girls were reading Christmas stories to each other. Super sweet, and if you can see on Keely's screen Tigger enjoyed the book too.

Now the girls both ask daily if they can Skype, only problem we are having is the darn time zone.

I feel amazing, I really hope I continue to feel this good for the remainder of the pregnancy. I passed my gestational diabetes test, yea!! Some reason I was afraid I had that even though I never had it with Elly.

Symptoms

Same as always, just sleepy. She is definitely giving my ribs a work out, but I really do cherish those kicks and punches. Some days she's a active little girl other days she just chills out on my left side. Personally I like the more active days let's me know she's doing okay.

Cravings

I'm so happy it was Thanksgiving last week, I took full advantage of all the pie. Come to Momma! Mmmmmm! Lately I've been having a hankering for gingerbread lattes too (decaf or 1/2 caf depending on the day). I used to love the peppermint white mocha's but they are just too sweet and give me a headache, so sad.

Elf on the Shelf is now part of our family Christmas tradition and so far it has been a hit. Elly quickly named her Peach (no surprise there if you remember she was Princess Peach for Halloween) and Big J carefully put her in a spot so she could watch Elly and report back to Santa with Elly's good behavior each night. We'll see how this plays out but so far I'm very impressed and Elly really gets a kick out of finding where Peach is the next morning.

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful day! We woke up, watch the parade, ate cinnamon rolls and even started putting up some Christmas decorations.

Around 4ish we met up with Nana Joan and Papa Ray and ate dinner out, less clean up and no standing for hours making dinner. I did miss making something but oh well, there's always Christmas to get that out of my system.

I thought I would be ahead of the game this year since I failed miserably at this last year. Didn't even get any done. Bad Mommy! Feeling ten times better then I did two weeks ago that is for sure! Amazing what rest can do for a pregnant lady. Well that and the muscle relaxers the doctor prescribed. A few days of those and I feel like a new woman.

Symptoms

Bouts of sleepiness come and go. On weekends I'm lucky that Big J will take over and let me nap. During the week it's harder to get a nappy snooze in with working full time and Mommy duties. But it's not terrible and I try to get to bed early.

Cravings

Well we polished off the cherry pie (thank you Joan), it was so yummy! Yes, I said we...I had to share. *pout* I do have sweet tooth, but I've always have had that. No new crazy cravings. I'm kinda sad, I wanna crave something crazy, like pickles and chocolate sauce. Pickles are gross though. BARF!

The Body I'll Never See Again

The majority of women, I would say a good 99% battled body image issues. Mine have never really gone away. Even at my thinnest I still wanted to lose another 10 pounds. Seems like an on-going battle, but a healthy battle. I’ve never dabbled in anything unsafe. I'm a huge fan of The Biggest Loser and what they stand for (at least what they say they stand for, wink!)

I'm not naturally thin, I’m naturally bigger. I say it this way because my body just likes to weigh 20ish pounds more then it should. My sizes have ranged from a size 20 to a 6. I have to work really hard to stay at a normal weight.

I had Elly blocking some of my chub.

I actually really fell in love with going to the gym right before my wedding in 2006 and shortly after moving to Ohio when I found a local kickboxing class. Granted I really wanted to lose weight and feel good. I was tired of the run down feeling and just being uncomfortable in my own skin. At the time of my wedding I had lost about 30+ pounds with the help of a personal trainer.

However, this body was not hard to get, after I started training for my half marathon last year, I noticed my arms were getting toned along with my legs. I felt invincible that anything was possible. I was also going through treatment during this time with Jon for infertility. I was not on any medication during my training, so running was actually really therapeutic and cleared my head. After a long hard run many times I couldn't wipe the smile off my face.

On the other hand, this body was incredibly hard to come by. I dreamed of having this body again. I never lost hope of giving Elly a sibling. I always knew that I was meant to be a mom and always had it in the back of my head I would be a mom of two little girls. Funny how I never thought I would be a mom to a boy. Even more funny how now I know I'm pregnant with another girl.
Excuse the self portrait this morning and the dirty mirror. I swear I was this big on the day I gave birth to my Elly.
This body the one that's a lot heavier than my normal weight, much rounder and squishy- is the one I'm so proud to have. This is the body that I envied on others. Seeing this body shape on women would bring me to tears. This body is what I thought I could never achieve again. I seriously cannot wait to watch my pregnant body keep changing over the next 15 weeks and 10 plus pounds (dear me!).

I know I'm in the minority here. Many pregnant women see a picture of their pre-pregnant selves and wonder if they'll ever get that body back. That's honestly never been a worry of mine, sure I want to get back in shape but I’ll miss this body.

I'm already bracing for the day when my baby girl is in my arms and my other big girl is sitting by me. I'll come across a picture of my pregnant self and it will leave me sobbing. Because that's the body I'll want back more than anything, but I know my family will be complete and our journey with infertility will finally be over and done with.

Feeling okay, I've been a little miserable lately. Having all sorts of pains in my lower belly area and right hip. Even made a extra doctor appointment cause I just could not take it anymore. The doctor thinks I have torn muscles and sent me home with muscle relaxors and said to use crutches if needed. Hopefully in two weeks I'll be all better. But ya, so I've been cranky being immobile.

Symptoms

Besides the pains, I'm enjoying the growing belly and kicks. I've got a waddle down to a science, a little earlier then I planned but when I try to walk normal I just end up whincing. Sigh.

Cravings

Nothing really these last couple of weeks. Pie isn't really even sounding good right now. Hmmm...what's going on? HA!

Elly wrote Aunt Candee a letter and before I mailed it I had to document it. Finally Aunt Candee got it in the mail so I can share it with you all. Sometime Aunt Candee visits Ellyphant so I didn't want to ruin the surprise. For those of you who are confused here is an explanation:
Aunt Candee and Keely have blond hair, she even got the length right. Aunt Candee knows spanish along with Keely. Why the Hola and not Howdy or Hello or How you doing?
The inside part cracked me up, I still was laughing when I was mailing it. Poor post office clerk probably thought I was nuts. Elly did this all by herself, so creative.

Feeling good and looking forward to the holidays. Can you believe Halloween is just in two weeks? How is that possible, I tell ya it was just 4th of July yesterday! *wink

Feeling her kick daily, best moment so far was yesterday when Elly felt her kick. She bragged to Jon that she felt her sister, he's super jealous. She just won't kick when he put his hand on my belly. Stubborn, just like him.

Cravings

I decided to change work outs to cravings. I've had to come to the very real realization that I just won't be one of those gym buffs with a belly. I've tried, trust me I have, but I just get extremely sore in all the wrong places. So anyways, cravings...pie. I want it all the time. Salty food is my enemy. I had a hankering for sloppy joes last night, made them, took one bite and was done. I just want sweet right now.

Bull Dog 5K and Fun Run

Couple weekends ago we woke up early, again, to do a race. It was freezing out. I think the high that morning was 45, which is crazy seeing as it was 80 this weekend.

It was the first annual race for this high school, they were raising money for new sports equipment. The made over $12K! Way to go!

Poor Jon was still at our car when the race started, but don't feel too bad, he still came in 3rd overall. Mr. McSpeedy.

Kinda cool at the finish they run into a big bull dog tunnel. Creative. That's all Elly wanted to do, was to play in that tunnel.

After Jon's 5K, we waited until it was our turn to run the Fun Run 1 mile race. We were frozen at this point. Not as cold as it will get but man we don't like to be ca ca cold.

Coming in, Elly was nice and decided to run with me for awhile, then she ditched me right at the end. I jogged and walked fast, a mistake I'm still paying for 8 days later.

Today we celebrate our legal union...sounds weird, but I only say it this way because I don't want to forget about the six years we had prior to this date. In those 6 years we grew up fast, moved in together, welcomed a daughter, made many life choices that a typical married couple would make, and just loved each other. I couldn't be happier with the news last week, another little lady to love! Poor Jon is out numbered (even the dog is female) but he couldn't be more thrilled. I asked him about 5 times are you upset it's not a boy and he reassured me about 5 times that he loves being a Daddy to a little girl. Bless him!

Symptoms

Feeling kicks and loving them, I'm actually looking forward to when they are stronger. I start to worry when I can't feel her. Still getting morning sickness every now and then which I thought was gone, but awhh well I'll take it.

Workouts

Ha! Well, I did jog a little on Sunday at a fun run and am seriously paying for it. Ouch! Walking is my only friend.

Half Marathon

Jon has ran this race before but on a relay team, this is the first year that he did the half marathon. He did amazing and came in 12th overall out of 3200! Impressive!

Good crowd support at this race, he told me several people yelled, "Go Mohawk!" Sigh, so proud.
Elly and I nearly missed him finishing, I think we got there as the clock turned 1 hour 19 minutes! Parking was not easy and thanks to the two cops who told me to go down 6 blocks but really meant 3 blocks. I think they just wanted a good laugh.

Racing season is almost behind us for the year, makes me sad. I really do enjoy watching Jon do his races and making him posters. I love seeing Elly get so excited as he runs by. Next racing season he'll have a extra crowd supporter.

Feeling great! Got a new hair cut, still not sure if I love it, but hopefully with all the vitamins,etc going on, it'll grow back fast. The big ultrasound is in 8 days, I'm getting very excited to see Poof! Last time I saw him/her I was only six week. We all can't wait!

Symptoms

I can definitely feel little squirms. It's a beautiful feeling that I do not take for granted, I'm cherishing every little thing right now, even down to the aches and pains.

Workouts

Lots of walking...but that's about it. Starting to feel some pain when I push too hard. Little sad about that since I'm only 18 weeks but I know when my body needs to rest.

Chicago was super fun! I love that city after only being there for a few days. The airport not so much...seriously why can't I take a snow globe with me?!? Oh because they can't identify the liquid? Pah lease! I must look like a threat because the Ohio airport questioned my maternity sweater too!?! Okay rant over.

We went for pizza and it was so delicious! Gino's East is really yummy, only fail it took 45 minutes to cook! =) We ordered some appetizer to hold us over, okay hold me over. Best thing about eating with family you can totally double dip! I haven't uploaded all my pictures but after looking at them I have came to the conclusion that something really comfy may not be so flattering. Sigh.

Thank you again to my wonderful sisters Monica and Candee for spending the weekend with me, I love you both so much! Next time we see each other you will have another niece or nephew to love on! XOXO

Yesterday Elly was begging and pleading with me to let her come with me on my Sisters Weekend Get Away to CHICAGO!! I'm so excited, this weekend will be so fun! The tears rolled in, the promises came, the I'll do whatever you say...heart breaking. Finally her Dad came home and he assured her they'd have just as good of time as Momma would at home. Not convinced Elly still pouted. I went and took a shower, got dressed and Elly came in, hands on hips and said, "Throw me a solid Mom and let me go to Chicago with you!" I couldn't help it, I laughed so hard and told her to tell her Daddy to stop teaching her things to say. She giggled and ran out. Never a dull moment.

I always go into El's room before I leave for work, usually she's asleep and I re-cover her up and pick up Barry (or is it Beary?) the teddy bear off the floor and tuck him in. Well this morning I tip-toe in and Elly sat right up and said loudly, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMA!!" It was very sweet and I whispered thank you and told her to go back to bed. No such luck, she got up and got ready for school. Awh well, less work for Jon to do. Jon came home, he went to the gym before I left, and surprised me with the above pictured goodness. Two birthday wishes before 6am, life is so good.

The Belly

This week picture is done by Elly, Jon was under the weather so here ya go! Still not too shabby.

Not quite a pop but it definitely full time maternity pants now, so comfortable!

Mood

Still feeling great! I had one day last weekend where morning sickness raised havoc again but it was short lived. Thank goodness! The weather is changing, and while I'm sad it just means I'll get to meet Poof soon!

Symptoms

Starting to feel little butterflies in my tummy and it's so exciting! I had my OB appointment last week and heard the wonderful thud, thud, thud, I always get teary eyed hearing that. I'm still just so thankful that I'm pregnant. Everyday I just wake up feeling so blessed.

Workouts
I'll be honest I could be doing a better job in this category. I have done a lot of yoga and walking but nothing more then that.

My Triathlete

Beginning of August (sorry this is a bit late...bad wife), Jon competed in his first triathlon. The gym we go to put this together and with success sounds like it'll be an annual thing. Jon was nervous but excited.

He was in the first heat/wave, he wasn't sure exactly how long it would take him. The first wave allotted the swim portion 45 minutes...it took Jon about 9 minutes.

Swim portion was 400 meters, he came in 2nd on his wave.

Bike portion was 10 miles, he came in 2nd on his wave.

Transition from bike to run, throwing this picture in because it started to pour. Elly and I were soaked. As was Jon, the actually delayed 2 of the waves because of the storm. But let the first 2 waves continue on. I felt bad for them, running in the rain is not so fun and your shoes feel like lead.
Run portion was a 5K or 3.2 miles, he came in 1st. As I knew he would. =)

Someone enjoyed the rain and the puddles though.

We had Elly's Parent Back to School night last night. Meaning students stay home and parents get to learn about the teacher and class solo. Kinda nice but at the same time I wanted El to tell me where she sat, etc. Anyways, Elly's teacher is very nice and reminds me a lot of my teacher sister Candee who's an elementary school teacher. She even took a short video of the classes daily routines and we saw Elly, which I'm happy to report follows the rules. The picture above cracked me up, she even included super Sarah Dog and super Donut Hamster (cut off a little, sorry Donut *bottom right corner-grayish blob). Still can't believe I have a second grader.

Nothing has really changed, I feel some hardness but nothing drastic.

Mood

I feel really good. I'm not as nauseous so that is a great positive and mood enhancer. I'm just really enjoying everything and taking it all in.

Symptoms

I've had a few surgeries (including the Cesarean with Elly) and the scar areas are feeling odd but that is normal according to the OB. I've had some crazy cravings this weeks...the biggest one is cheesecake. I tried strawberry cheesecake ice cream but it wasn't the same. Someone bring me some cheesecake. HA!

Workouts

I'm happy to report I did get some good ol exercise in! Some walking, yoga and swimming. Go me! I have a few workout DVDs at home so it was nice to just do it with no spectators, unless you count furball Sarah, oh and Elly asking every 5 minutes for something.

Jon and I work full time and during the summer and holidays we are lucky to have a daycare that Elly loves to go to. This last week Elly brought home a autograph book. I thought it was adorable how she spelled autograph and the year is 20011 don't cha know. It was filled with signatures and special notes from her teachers. She'll still go to the day care in the morning and catch the bus to school but summer camp is so fun and she'll miss it.

On Sunday, we went to my favorite place in Ohio, the trail I used to run last year during my half marathon training. It was a bit drizzly but we had fun until the bugs started eating us. Then it was get me back to the car ASAP.

Regardless we had a awesome time and enjoyed ourselves. We hope to make it back there before winter hits.

The Belly

Confession this is 80% bloat/flub and 20% baby. Maybe even 99% bloat/flub and 1% baby? Either way, I'm trying hard to embrace it.

Mood
Goodness, maybe I should have my husband write this. I cry a lot easier that's for sure. For example, we were talking about weight this weekend and he asked something no man should ever asked. I started to cry and after that I think he'll never ask again. Sorry Big J. So, no, I will never write on here how much I've gained or not gained during this pregnancy...maybe at the end? Agreed!?!

Symptoms
Well to say I have morning sickness would be an understatement, full blown yuckies all day, but luckily for me it is getting better. I have good and bad days. Exhaustion is another thing that I am not used to. But again it's getting better.

Workouts
I did manage to get to the gym twice this week! YAY! I even rode the bike with Jon, that was super fun. The gym has a new bike that you can compete with the person beside you. He won, Mr. Competitive, but that was only because I didn't want to get my heart rate too high for Poof. I'm trying my hardest to get to the gym 3 times a week, it makes me feel better and helps with my yuckies.
