Ouch, ouch, ouch

So this running/training for a half marathon business...umm ya. I mean why didn't someone tell me it would be painful? That I would have liked to know. The blisters I could handle, wrap a band aid around it and I'm golden. The shin splints...not so much. I'd rather poke my eyes then have to deal with them. I had them for a solid month, so much pain I could hardly walk. I've used liberal amounts of icy hot/biofreeze that my legs probably have a permanent minty smell to them. Eh better then smelling like something else I suppose. My running buddies keep telling me oh it'll get better? Seriously? Really...
Tell that to this poor legs wrapped in ice and a ace bandage. Side note my jammies are super cute, huh?!

Or tell that to my shin braces that represent more of Forest Gump look then a hard core runner...although Forest did run in that movie, hmmmm....
But sometimes that pain is worth it when I get a note from a really hot guy at the gym, when I'm struggling to run the last few miles because the stupid rain prevented me from running outside:
Kidding...well it was from a really hot guy, Big J and my ass does look smashing after 9 miles.

I haven't had the pleasure of shin splints yet. I just got my first running injury last week. My dry heel ripped open while I was running. Oh, the pain and burning! I hope you feel better soon!
I love the motivational note you got...that was so sweet!

My shins were KILLING ME after my last workout on the treadmill and they hurt for like 3-4 days and it was miserable. I have no idea how you've continued with your running through that pain. DIE HARD chick, I guess...

LOVE the note from Jon! HOW SWEET!!
