My little Elly Bean loves to read! I'm soooooooo excited about this. I was secretly hoping that she would share my passion in reading. For as long as I can remember I've loved to read. I remember my Mom even yelling at me in the middle of the night to turn off my bed lamp and go to bed and I would holler back, "Just one more page!!!"
Now that Elly is getting more into chapter books it's been amazing watching her little brain work. Lately we've been reading Junie B Jones before bed, they still are a little advanced for her to read alone but she knows most of the words. That Junie B Jones though let me tell you...WOW...that girl needs a time out! Feisty little girl!! HA! Elly will tell me after we read a funny part, "Mommy I would never do that."
Whew, good! Happy Wednesday...2 more days until Elly is 6!

I remember when Manga Dork was reading Junie B Jones...it passes so fast.
I have a pic of Manga Dork when I caught her reading a book on her own...she has been an avid reader ever since!
I Love that Elly loves to read too. Emily is my lil reader...I hope she stays with it. Kinda goes in stages right now. Yea Elly!!!
I love Junie B Jones, that girl is a hoot, isn't she? I think my favorite is the one where she goes to the farm! Check out the Pigeon books by Mo Willams as well. Elly could read most of them and they are a HOOT!
I think that's wonderful! Reading is so important, and I don't think most kids read enough.
I grew up with parents and sisters who loved to read, so I read all the time. My kids are just like me, especially Lexie.
LOL! Em loved Junie B. Jones at that age, too. The way she talks makes me LAUGH (not how she's sassy, but just how she strings her words together). I wish there was an equivalent of Junie for boys to read. I'm not finding a good series of shorter chapter books for Jared to get into. They're all quite thick with LONG words.
PS The fairy books by Daisy Meadows (there's a million) are fun and are pretty quick reads.
I am so glad that my girls are readers too! I love hearing Jimmy read to them, because he so is not a reader, and this way I know he reads some too!!
