Awhhh Halloween, most children's favorite holiday of the year. A time to dress up and get free candy. I thought it would be fun to look back at Elly's costumes, join me in a trip down memory lane:Year one; a cute lil giraffe and a hand craved pumpkin made from her Mommy. =)Year Two; a lil chicken...she was so cute.
Year Three; Minnie Mouse, we had just came back from Disneyland and it was hard not to have her be Minnie Mouse.Year Four; Monkey Princess...she worked that costume to her advantage and even won a costume contest.

Year Five; Alice in Wonderland, my girly girl loved to twirl that dress.

Stayed tuned this weekend to see what we come up with for Year Six. =)

Ode to Big J

Wow it's so cool to say, "Pshhh my husband just ran a marathon, no big deal...pshhh ya I'm married to a marathoner...pshhh no big deal." HAHA!! Ya right it's freakin awesome! I have such pride in my heart for Big J!! Okay so I print screened these pictures from the website, cause any pictures I took were not great, bummer! If you followed me on twitter this weekend I'm so sorry but the app on my iPhone was not working and TRUST me I was furious. Nothing like calling your parents on the west coast freaking out and walking my Dad through how to use twitter slighting panicking, at least Dad is a early riser. Anyways on to the pics....
Only 1% of the world can run a marathon in under 3 hours. Yup!

Night before his big race Big J handed me a jewelry box with a bracelet inside and this charm on it:

My little fish!

Elly advanced to the next level on swim lessons last week. She is so excited to go from the pike lessons to the eel lessons. Hooray Elly! She received a ribbon and a certificate!! Proud Mommy alert! =)

Bolt Goes to Work

Big J drops El off to daycare every morning. One day this week she asked, "Daddy can you bring Bolt to work with you cause he'll get scared if you leave him in the car all day."

I'm not sure if El said she needed to see proof or what, but Big J obliged and here is Bolt hard at work:

Typing emails...and clocking out.
Whew! What a day.

Pumpkin Patch

It was a beautiful fall day on Saturday so I loaded up El and Big J and off to the pumpkin patch we went. (It was the same place that Big J ran his 1/2 marathon the weekend before and is just really beautiful!!)

Elly was really excited to ride the train she was the caboose. Latterly we threw her in after only entering the pumpkin patch for 30 seconds.

Then we went on a hay ride to the big pumpkin patch. It was really bumpy and at one point I lost my camera but a good Samaritan jumped off the ride and ran and got it for me, while Big J just sat there. HAHAHA!! I was just shocked it fell out of my pocket.

As you can see the pumpkins were already picked through, but we still had fun searching for the perfect pumpkin.

Hmmm how bout we go to Sam's Club and pick one up?

Okay and can we get a pretzel and a Icee too?

After the hay ride we went on to the petting zoo and El feel in love with a sweet donkey. She was just too cute talking in a high pitch voice to Eeyore.
I'll come back and see you next year, I promise!

On to the pot belly pigs, she promptly named Piglet.

I wasn't quick enough but here she was feeding a goat (can't really see it), which tickled her hand and she thought it was the greatest thing ever! Giggle, giggle!

It was absolutely perfect weather and we had so much fun!

Pineapple Chicken Goodness Sandwich

Say hello to my little friend...

Soy chicken and it's not the rubbery soy crap either...it taste so yum and has great texture! I've tried different soy meat and I don't know what Morning Star does but they do it up good!! Mmmmmm!!
Okay on to my fantastic chicken sandwich you'll need...

1/3 cup of pineapple chunks give or take (20-30 calories)

1 soy chicken patty (90 calories)

1 hamburger bun (try the thin-wich brand for only 100 calories)

1 slice of pepper jack cheese (90 calories)

Toast the bun and put the cheese on one side. Cook the chicken patty as directed and put on top of the cheese and bun. Now warm the pineapple up in the microwave, this will only need 10ish seconds depending on your microwave. Drain the juice and spoon on top of the chicken. Press the other side of the bun on top of the pineapple and enjoy!

Mmmmmmmm good! Taste just like the restaurant chicken sandwich but for less calories and less money! Win win situation if I ever did hear one!

Stomp the Grapes 1/2 Marathon

What Jon ran in another race this weekend?? What? What? Are you sure? HA! That's me being sarcastic by the way, but at least this one was a beautiful place, a bit chilly but beautiful!

Running so fast his feet are blurred! He placed 6th overall and 1st in his age group. He was a bit disappointed but I was so proud of him, 6th place for a half marathon (13.1 miles) is AMAZING!

Can you see us? They caught Elly and I eating a cookie for the runners...eh runners/runner's family all the same. HA! Not like Jon would eat it anyways, if it had Honey Comb cereal in it yes, yes then he would have ate it.
