Kindergarten
Well today's the day, today's the day I send Elly off to kindergarten. She's in the afternoon session, I don't know whether I like that more or less today. Feel like time is just messing with me now.

Through Elly's eyes...
La la la la!! =) We're off today to go swimming and have a fun day. We've already went and had bagels and chocolate milk, oh and a trip to Target (of course). Have a great Thursday!
Tomorrow school starts...shhhhhh! If I pretend it's not really happening it won't right? She's still 3 months old in my eyes. Shhhhh!

Kindergarten Open House
Elly's starting kindergarten on Friday...yes it's true...she's old enough to start school.
Sniff, sniff...CRY!!!!!!!!!! (Okay I'll compose myself long enough to finish this post.)
This is her teacher Miss Donley, she was very sweet and nice and posed for a quick cell phone picture. Elly was very excited to meet her and see her classroom. Sigh two more days until I send my baby into the big bad world with out me.

Princess Keely

Lists
Often times I get caught up with life that I forget to stop and smell the roses and live my life.
I like lists, especially when I get home from work:
Pick up Elly....check
Go to the gym....check
Take Sarah out for a walk....check
Make dinner....check
Shower....check
PJs....check
Teeth brushed....check
Movie/Read a book....check
Every now and then a sweet little voice will say, "Momma come play with me! Come play doll house with me Momma."
But, but it's not on my list!
Kaci shut it and go play doll house!
I can't, I can't I have to make dinner, I have to give her a bath, I have to have to have to...
She won't be this young forever, she won't want her Mom to play with her.

Summer Fun
Yesterday Elly went to a local water park with Nana Joan and Papa Ray...doesn't look like she had fun at all, does it? I mean water parks are such a drag...ho hum.
She's not at all smiling and sticking her tongue out at the same time...sigh, must be hard. 
Safety first, good girl...goggles to protect the eyes, floating device, a life vest and liberal amounts of sunscreen. PERFECT! Still not at all having fun.
Whooooa what!?! You didn't have fun petting a real live alligator. Nope no fun. Poor kid. I'm sure she'll need some therapy later in life for not having fun ever in the summer.

Don't Yuck my Yum
Have you ever sat down to enjoy a sandwich when the person sitting across from you looks disgusted? They make a face, voice an opinion and look at you in disbelief that you would ever put something that foul in your mouth. So you proceed to put your sandwich down, slowly, and no one will get hurt...so to say. You sigh, pull yourself together and pick that damn sandwich back up and eat it anyways! HA! How do you like me now?!
So, tell me really, when someone is eating something you wouldn't enjoy do you yuck their yum? I have, I'll be honest, for example I despise pickles. You know those big ol' pickles you get at the fair and people just eat them whole with a napkin wrapped around them? Ya I vomit in my mouth when I see it too. I'm trying really hard to not cast my opinions on other peoples food habits because now Elly can't stand pickles either. I'm not sure if it's because Mommy doesn't like them or if she truly doesn't puffy heart pickles.
Being vegetarian I've had to deal with this a lot more then I expected. Anytime I eat something made with soy/tofu or something clearly vegetarian/vegan I get the constant comments from the peanut gallery. Luckily, I have thick skin, but it does get to me. I have my days when I just don't understand why it bothers people so much that I don't eat meat. I don't think I'll ever understand...I still don't understand why people like pickles so much. HA!

My Little Running Family
Jon and Elly ran in a race yesterday. Elly ran in the 400 meter and Jon ran the 5 mile. Both did really well and placed.
Jon place third in his age group and 18th place over all. 1400 plus people raced. WAY TO GO!
Elly did so well and ran 400 meters all by herself! She even got a medal. WAY TO GO!
