Friday Funny
Bad Sarah
Not once...but twice this week Sarah's gotten loose and found her friend Pe Pe La Pu! Skunks are cute, skunks are cuddly-I know Sarah but they are stinky! They make you stinky! They make me dry heave and re-vacuum and sterilize the whole house AGAIN!

Tofu Tuesday
Mom's Peach Cobbler 5-6 large peaches
1 box of yellow or spice cake mix
1 cube of butter (melted)
8x8 pan
Peel and slice peaches, place in pan. Dump the cake mix over peaches, drizzle the butter over the mixture. Pop that baby in the oven at 350 and bake until golden brown.

Please bake this for me and send next day air, mine just doesn't taste as good as yours.

Lunch with my Sis
My sister Candee was in the area today. She's here just on a short kid-less trip, so we had lunch together. It was great to catch up face to face. I forgot about these pictures...taken last month.

Best Soap Ever!
I ordered from, this hand made soap website, a few yummy soaps to try out and let me tell you...I was highly impressed!!! Now before I get any further let me give you a little history. I work at a mainly male dominant office. Every now and then we get things in the mail from our customers. Anything from wine, t-shirts, pens, etc. Well one day we got a box full of bar soap. SCORE!! Now I don't have to buy that for the next year! Sigh, well after using it one time the soap turned to this:
Seriously? Eww....being thrifty I said eh whatev use it again. I couldn't handle it...in the trash and I used the rest for presents. Oops did I just say that? 
Now I'm not just saying this, these home made soaps did not turn to mush after one wash, two wash, three washes...in fact they are still in tact and I've used them at least fifteen times on myself and on El. Smell so good, and El loves the cute flower soap (thanks Kerri)!Elly even commented, "Mmmmm Momma your arm smells yummy."
Seriously get over there and buy her soaps!

Friday Funny
A funny from the desk of my Dad...
I Love Mustard.
As ham sandwiches go, it was perfection: a thick slab of ham (I'm sure he means soy ham) on a fresh bun with crisp lettuce and plenty of expensive, light brown , gourmet mustard. The corners of my jaw aching in anticipation, I carried it to the table in our backyard, picked it up with both hands but was stopped by my wife suddenly at my side.
"Here, hold Johnny (our three-month-old son) while I get my sandwich," she said.
I had him balanced between my left elbow and shoulder and was reaching again for the ham sandwich when I noticed a streak of mustard on my fingers. I love mustard. I had no napkin. I licked it off. It was not mustard. No man ever put a baby down faster. It was the first and only time I have sprinted with my tongue protruding. With a washcloth in each hand, I did the sort of routine shoeshine boys do; only I did it on my tongue. Later, after she stopped crying from laughing so hard, my wife said, 'Now you know why they call that fancy mustard . . . "Poupon."

Date Night
Friday I went shopping for the perfect outfit for my date night with Harry Potter...I mean Jon.
Yes that's right I dressed up to go see Harry Potter! Hey at least I didn't wear a witch hat, a cloak and bring a broom stick. Oh no, I'm much more classy than that. I bought a little black dress, some snappy black heels, and hoop earrings.
Not very often do I get to dress up. Found this dress at Old Navy and guess what?!? It was a size small!
Yes I'm bragging, yes it feels good!
However, date night was cut a little short. But we didn't mind bringing this crazy along to dinner...she's cute.

Excitement
Saturday we went a-shoppin' at our local mall and El participated in a treasure hunt sort of thing at the Disney Store. While hunting out of the corner of her eye El spotted the best treasure of all...you guess it...a new puppy dog. But, but, but not just any puppy dog a Bolt puppy dog!!
El ran to Jon all excited and Jon was just as excited!!
"Can we get it Mommy, oh please oh please!" El was down right pleading with me.
Sure, why not, buy one get one free, not like we don't have a room full of stuffed animals, sigh.
*I dare you to look at her face and not give in. You won't be able to, I've tried.*
On a side note, Jon and I searched high and low for a Bolt stuffed animal for her birthday and everywhere...EVERYWHERE was sold out. We did find one online but they wanted over $40!! YA RIGHT! These things were hot commodity for awhile. Damn collectors.

I frequent a lot of food websites...anything from Martha Stewart to Weight Watchers to The Pioneer Woman Cooks (boy is her stuff good, but not good on the hips!)
I found this recipe and my mouth is just watering. If you know me you know I big puffy heart L-O-V-E salsa. Take a look:
Watermelon Salsa:
4 cup(s) watermelon, seedless, chopped into small pieces1 cup(s) cucumber(s), seedless, chopped into small pieces
1/2 cup(s) scallion(s), chopped into small pieces (green and white parts)
1/2 large yellow pepper(s), chopped into small pieces
1 large jalapeño pepper(s), seeded, finely minced (do not touch seeds with bare hands)
1 1/2 tbsp cilantro, fresh, minced
1 1/2 tbsp mint leaves, fresh, minced
1 tsp sugar
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp fresh lime juice
Instructions:
Toss all ingredients together in a large bowl. Serve at room temperature or chilled. Yields about 1/2 cup per serving.

Now an update:
Dad made it home safe and sound yesterday. I'm so happy that he is home!! Things could have been a lot worse and I thank God that it wasn't. I told my Dad to look at the bright side...now when I'm driving home from work (1 hour give or take) he and I can talk EVERY SINGLE DAY! Dead silence...crickets chirping...Dad? Hello? :)

Okay it's my blog and I'll cry if I want to!
So yesterday I was in my kickboxing class, getting my sweat on, and my phone was ringing off the hook! First it was my sister Candee, then it was my sister in law Colleen, then my sister again, then Big J, then a few texts. Okay I'm almost to cool down just a few more minutes....then Big J comes walking into the class. What the, what the??!?! Okay something must be up.
Found out my Dad was injured at work. My Dad is a timber faller and I'm not exactly sure how it all happened but the chainsaw came down on his leg below his knee.
YIKES!
He went to the local hospital in my home town and then taken to another hospital for surgery. My Mom called late last night after the surgery and told me he severed the patella tendon and cut into the bone a bit. (Gives me the willys thinking of it) He stayed the night at the hospital and was given antibiotics in case of infection.
Please pray for my Dad for a speedy and pain free recovery. He'll be in crutches for three months and physical therapy for a good while.

Fourth of July Race
Elly and I ran a two mile race this morning...wait ...giggle... giggle...Elly and I ran/walked one mile together and I carried her the other mile. Part piggy back, part on the hip, part by her head dragging her. Just kidding! Although she was making such a fuss that people passing us probably thought I tortured her on a regular basis. COME ON ELLY THAT TWO YEAR OLD IS DOING IT...SHEESH! WHAT ARE YOU A MAN OR A MOUSE! "

Jon did really well he ran in the 5 mile race. He came in 15th overall and placed 2nd in his age group. He also placed second in the team race. WAY TO GO BIG J! Next year he's running the 5 mile with Elly...pay backs a >-}
