Wow, that is awesome!!! You go girl!!
congratulations to you both. That's awesome that you got a new PR!! :)
I wanted to say congratulations to my beautiful wife. I know this race was a big deal to her. She had committed to doing and wanted really badly to do well. She trained very hard pushing through injury and a lot of self doubt. In the last few days before the race she began to question her ability to finish this race but she did it. She took all the self doubt and turned it in to a hungry to prove to her self that she could accomplish such a daunting goal. When we were standing at the starting line this morning Kaci had that look in her eye. I call it the runner’s eye. It is that look a runner gets right be fore the race starts. You do not know what will happen on the course or what the clock when say when you’re done but you know you will finish you have to finish. No matter how badly you want to quit you will not because you are a runner. Nothing is going to stop you, not a big hill or a wicked side stitch or even a bunch of geese crossing the road. (That happened today on the course) Kaci had that look and I knew she was ready. I got to run the last half mile or so with her and was very PROUD of her when it was all said and done. Kaci finished with a new PR but more than that she had proved to her self that she could do it. Kaci is an amazing women in that fact that she did something most people would have not even attempt to do because of the doubt in there head. Not only did she do it, she screamed at the doubt and she said. “I AM GOING TO DO IT BECAUSE I AM A RUNNER AND A LITTLE DOUBT IS NEVER GOING TO STOP ME!!!!! Great job honey you are the BEST!!!!!
Wow. Jon is lightening fast, but oh well...
YOu? Rock on! I love when ANYONE finishes a race, whether it is 13 miles or 1/2 mile. Each one takes guts, determination and guts again. It is never easy to stand there at the start line, is it? I always pysch myself out watching the "jons" of a race.
Way to go!
YAY KACI!!! And what a supportive husband you have! :)
Congrats on the PR, rock star!
ROCKSTAR!! I'm so proud of you! That's awesome!!! I can't do 5ks, I'm not fast enough to get that energy burst. Way to go! That's so freaking exciting!
